Woolaroc to Host Southwestern Regional Rendezvous

Woolaroc Museum and Wildlife Preserve is the host site for the 33rd Annual Southwestern Rendezvous from March 18-25, 2017.   Wes Butcher from Woolaroc stated “this will be a lot like our annual Spring and Fall Encampment that we host at the Mountain Man Camp each year but on a much bigger scale.   We anticipate as many as 250-300 camps for this regional rendezvous.”   The Rendezvous will be open to the general public on March 18, 19 and 22-25th from 10 am to 4 pm and regular admission to Woolaroc on those days includes access to this special event.   Events that will be held at the Rendezvous include rifle/pistol shooting, archery, cooking contests, demonstrations to the public, seminars, games and much more.

“Woolaroc is thrilled to host this great event” said Bob Fraser, Woolaroc CEO,  “it fits perfectly with the mission of Woolaroc and will provide a wonderful opportunity for our guests to tour and visit a pre-1840 Trader’s Camp.   Our own Mountain Man Camp and our Spring and Fall Encampments are always something that the public loves….this regional event will be very similar but on a much larger scale.   Woolaroc is honored to host such a great event and we are hoping that people from throughout Oklahoma and neighboring states will take advantage of this opportunity to literally pause and step back in time.”

Woolaroc, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Washington, D.C., is located 12 miles SW of Bartlesville and 45 miles NW of Tulsa on State Highway 123.   For more information about Woolaroc or the upcoming regional rendezvous you can call the Woolaroc office at 918-336-0307, ext. 10 (Monday thru Friday) or go to the Woolaroc website at www.woolaroc.org.
