West Bend Winterland Returning to Claremore

Claremore’s West Bend Winterland is returning November 26 offering visitors a variety of events starting in November and ending December 22.
“We invite everyone to join us for the official lighting of Claremore’s 60 ft. fresh Christmas tree,” said Tanya Andrews, director of the Claremore Expo & Tourism Development. “The ceremony will be November 26 at 6 p.m. in the West Bend Green at the Claremore Expo Center.”
The 60 ft. Norway Spruce, weighing 7,000 pounds came from the Dutchman Tree Farm in Manton, Michigan. Our great partner, Pelco Structural, delivered the tree and with the assistance of GRDA and the City of Claremore Electric, the tree was centered and placed in an eight-foot hole, a make shift tree stand.
West Bend Winterland will be a time of celebration for families and visitors alike. On November 26, the lighting of the tree will kick-off with entertainment provided by RSU’S Choir and the Cherokee National Youth Choir; there will be popcorn and a trackless train for the kids, a giant snow globe for the perfect family photo and more. Food trucks will open at 5pm so families can enjoy dinner while anxiously awaiting the ceremony.
Express Personnel will be on hand accepting donations for The Share the Spirit Food Drive. Items needed are: canned green beans, corn, yams, peas, carrots, beans, cranberry sauce, canned fruit, boxed potatoes, cake mixes, and plain boxed noodles; no canned meat products please.
The lighting ceremony is made possible by the City of Claremore, BancFirst, Baker Hughes-A GE Company, Pelco Structural, GRDA, BNSF, Rogers County Coalition, Ira Green Construction, RCB Bank, Cherokee Nation, Hillcrest-Claremore, Vickrey Heat & Air, Rosenstein, Fist, and Ringold Law, Claremore Daily Progress, More Claremore, LLC, and Mid-Town Rental. A complete schedule of events, including public skate sessions, can be found at www.westbendwinterland.com, or call the Claremore Expo at 918-342-5357.
