Shidler Hosts 15th Annual Car Show August 25Shidler’s One-Day Car Show is a great way to enjoy a friendly, Saturday afternoon with family and friends. Shidler offers an American tradition to visitors, especially car enthusiasts, as it hosts its 15th Annual Car Show on Saturday, August 25. The town invites all to the car show to enjoy viewing cars with their finishes of all colors glimmering in the August sun.
The Annual One-Day Car Show in this small Osage County, Oklahoma, town has been a favorite event for 14 years for automobile enthusiasts from across the region. Again this summer, the tranquil town invites everyone to the show to enjoy the colors, styles and yes, even what’s under the hood.
Sponsored by the Shidler Area Chamber of Commerce and the Osage County Tourism Committee, the car show is held in Coussens Park on North Cosden Avenue. The park opens at 8:30 a.m. for registration, with the show running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Every year, Shidler Fire Department personnel and Ambulance Crew EMTs, all volunteers, work hard to provide delicious food for participants and visitors. Proceeds go toward Rescue Truck Ancillary Equipment to better equip the firefighters and ambulance crew for emergencies, according to Mollie Bivin of the Chamber.
Dash plaques are available for the first 150 entries, and awards are presented at 3:30 p.m. There will be door prizes, goody bags, 50/50 pot, and award plaques for numerous categories. Automotive related vendor space is available. The show will take place rain or shine.
Coussens Park is a nice place for visitors and residents alike to gather and enjoy the cars, friendly people and good food, according to Bivin.
Registration is $20, and forms are available online, www.shidleroklahoma.com. For more information, contact the Chamber at 918.793.4171 or email@example.com
