Pumpkin Festival at Shepherd’s Cross
Shepherd’s Cross Pumpkin Festival is a harvest celebration held at an authentic working farm, just north of Claremore Oklahoma on Scenic Route 66. So come to the farm and enjoy the peace of a few hours spent in the country. You can enjoy wholesome fun for the entire family including a hay maze, festive outdoor & indoor games, farm animal petting barn, farm demonstrations and fall story time. The farm’s focus is educational, fall festive fun. We will supply truckloads of pumpkins of all shapes and sizes for purchase, as well as straw bales & cornstalks for your fall decorating.Farm Museum & Educational Farm Silo is open – free admission. The Bible Garden is available for guided or self-guided tours where you can see pumpkins growing on the vines. Shepherd’s Shop, a quaint country gift shop, is an event in itself, featuring a host of festive fall, handmade wool and farm related gifts and wares from many gifted artisans. The shop is open year round and stocks snacks & beverages. They also carry healthy choice foods and grass fed, grass finished meats. There are modern indoor restrooms.
The festivities will proceed even in the case of inclement weather conditions. Many demonstrations take place in the Amish built gambrel roof tour barn, which houses some animals as well as the wool processing, farm museum, games, hands on learning stations, and story time.
This event is made possible by Heart of the Shepherd Inc., a public, non-profit Christian organization (501-C3) that teaches Biblical references to the harvest, the animals, farming and gardening. Because of their generosity the entrance fee is free and operates by donations. Suggested donation is $5 per person (suggested – not required).
Wagon Rides in the hay meadow are $6.50 per person; children two and under are free. They “load up and head out” approximately every 30 minutes. Pumpkin, Wagon Ride, Scarecrow packages are available $7, $8 & $10 – includes hayride, all activities & a pumpkin to take home. Size of pumpkin varies with package price; while supplies last.
School groups (public & private) and large tour groups are always welcome. If more than 20 participants please pre-schedule. We have ample parking and can accommodate buses. Pumpkins arrive mid-September so beat the crowds and come early.
Shepherd’s Cross is an accredited Agritoruism facility, a Made in Oklahoma Company, and a Grass Fed Grass Finished, Animal Welfare Certified Farm.
