Giddy up, partner and head to the High Noon Shoot Out at J.M. Davis Arms and Historical Museum October 5th. The Tri-State Gunfighters will stage a bank robbery, jailbreak and Wild West skits.  It is free to the public.   For more information, visit thegunmuseum.com
Oklahoma Buckskin Horse Association will host Ridin' for the Pink Futurity Show in support of Breast Cancer awareness at the Claremore Expo on October 5th and 6th.  Along with the horse show, activities include a pumpkin decorating contest, chili cook off, and bouncy horse race.  All events are free, open to the public and everyone is encouraged to wear pink.  For more information, visit oklahomabuckskin.org.
Visit Claremore and the Will Rogers Memorial Museum will host Oklahoma Travel Industry Association and Lt. Governor Pinnell’s 2019 Lt. Governor's Travel & Tourism Summit. The half-day program provides tourism education featuring speakers covering a range of topics on best practices to promote tourism in your region, and includes a town hall discussion by the Lt. Governor on tourism development in each of the areas visited around the state. A full day ticket is $45 per person and $20 per person for the Networking option, which allows access to the town hall and reception following.  Ticket can be purchased online though OTIA.
Fall and fun are in the air!  Route 66 Pecan and Fun Festival is happening October 26th and 27th, right off Route 66 at The Nut House in Verdigris.  Live music, hay rides, food trucks, petting zoo, and Halloween costume contest are just a few of the many events scheduled for the Festival weekend.  The event is from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday and 12 noon to 6 pm on Sunday.  Admission is free, although some events are ticketed, and parking is $5.00 per car.  For more information, visit rt66pecanfest.com.
The Will Rogers Memorial Museum will host the inaugural Will Rogers Motion Picture Festival from October 30th to November 2nd.   The festival will offer movies, lectures, workshops, food and fun for film buffs and fans alike.  They will be honoring today's movie makers during the Festival with contest submissions from around the world and celebrating the amazing movie career of Will Rogers. Claremore has one more Food Truck Thursday for the year.  It will be a spooky all hallows eve on Claremore Main Street October 31st! Come check out the live music, unique foods, local shops, and trick-or-treating, from 6 pm - 9 pm! Don’t forget to visit the museums, they will have Halloween themes, as well.
