POSTOAK Sponsoring 5k Margarita Trail Run & Fiesta Brunch on Cinco de Mayo

POSTOAK Lodge & Retreat is sponsoring its first POSTOAK 5k Margarita Trail Run on Cinco de Mayo in conjunction with an overnight special and a Fiesta Brunch, according to Trisha Kerkstra, general manager of POSTOAK.

Proceeds from the run will benefit Tulsa Global Alliance in its mission to build global community. TGA is a non-profit organization that builds global community by hosting U.S. State Department International Visitor Leadership Program participants, managing exchanges with Tulsa’s eight international Sister Cities, and promoting global education and international trade.

“We have long admired the work TGA does in our community and thought this would be a great way to recognize them and at the same time have a fun event that uses our existing trails.

“Cinco de Mayo happens to coincide with our ‘First Sundays’ when we offer day passes on the first Sundays in May, June, July and August.  We hope folks will come out for the 5k and also register for the Fiesta Brunch, or take advantage of the rooms special or the First Sunday offerings,” Kerkstra said.

On Saturday, May 4, POSTOAK invites everyone to spend the night for $125 and the next morning enjoy a breakfast buffet from 8-10 a.m. or upgrade to a brunch.

Call 918.425.2112 or book online at www.postoaklodge.com.

On Sunday, at 8:30 a.m. the 5k POSTOAK Margarita Trail Run begins. Participants are advised to register online with early registration costing $25, and day of costing $35. It’s $10 for children ages 6-17, and registration for children under 5 is free.

Race prizes include stays at the Lodge with continental breakfasts or POSTOAK Canopy Tour passes. All winners receive a membership in Tulsa Global Alliance, and every racer receives a commemorative cup and adults receive a free margarita.

You don’t have to run to make a reservation for the Fiesta Brunch, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.   “We had such great compliments from the Wine & Jazz Brunch last fall, and many of our guests have asked us to do another brunch, so it made sense to add it for Cinco de Mayo,” said Kerkstra.  Guests will enjoy Latin-inspired breakfast delights, entrees, salads, and desserts. A cash bar will be available. Brunch cost is $25 for adults and half price for children age 6-12. Call 918.425.2112 to reserve a seating time.
