Affectionately known to Oklahomans as the “Antique Capital of Oklahoma” Jenks America has much to offer the shopping enthusiast. The Antique and Arts District in the charming, historic downtown area, features everything antique from vast malls to quaint nooks, with a sprinkling of treat shops – candy, coffee, diners – providing places to rest in between shopping sprints.
This jam-packed area is host to the Jenks Herb and Plant Festival and the Jenks America Food Truck Festival each spring and Art on Main in the fall, where the works of dozens of local artisans are showcased. All are ideal for a Saturday family outing.
Not too far from the shopping district is the Oklahoma Aquarium, where visitors come to see the largest bull sharks in captivity and another 200 exhibits. A few exhibits feature some pretty odd looking characters, see if you can find those. The Riverwalk Crossing is also located near Jenks Antique and Art District. Facing the Arkansas River it is home to various restaurants and the Flying Tee will soon be open to visitors.
Much to do in Jenks and there’s certainly a treasure or two waiting just for you.
